Four years after the firm's foundation by Dr. Herbert Schneider, OKW cases have been developed and manufactured in Buchen, Germany since 1951. The business started with the manufacture of tuning knobs and radio cases. Guided by the slogan "To Each His Own Housing", the number of types and versions offered had risen to several hundred by 1984.

This was a good reason to start distributing these standard cases through the Odenwälder Kunststoffwerke Gehäusesysteme which was from now on legally independent. Sales partners worldwide and cooperation with reliable and competent partners from many different markets guarantee a global customer service. A special strength of OKW is a customized modification like drilling, milling, printing, lacquering etc.
